Sometimes, it’s hard to be dignified and disciplined. Why? Because you live in a world where many prominent people want you to believe that dignified, self-disciplined behavior is going out of style. But don’t kid yourself: self-discipline never goes out of style!

Face the facts: Life’s greatest rewards aren’t likely to fall into your lap. To the contrary, your greatest accomplishments will probably require plenty of work and a heaping helping of self-discipline—which, by the way, is perfectly fine with God. After all, He knows that you’re up to the task and He has big plans for you. God will do His part to fulfill those plans, and the rest, of course, depends on you!
