“But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words
thou shalt be justified and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
Matthew 12:36-37
This world can be a difficult place, a place where many of our friends and family members are troubled by the inevitable challenges of everyday life. And since we can never be certain who needs our help, we should be careful to speak helpful words to everybody who crosses our paths.
In the book of Ephesians, Paul writes, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may may minister grace unto the hearers” (4:29). Paul reminds us that when we choose our words carefully, we can have a powerful impact on those around us.
Today, let’s share kind words, smiles, encouragement, and hugs with our family, friends and anyone we may encounter on daily basis. Who knows if they really needed one!
God bless,
