Fearless

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 2:7

As a woman of God, wife and mother, I can honestly say that, in my life, facing trials hasn’t been easy. I do admit that others face far greater challenges than me. That being said, the burden has been heavy at times. As the years pass, one thing is clear: I’m not the person I once was. In the past, my initial reaction to adversity was to stress over life’s hardships regardless of how big or small the problems actually were. This obviously led to times of anguish and heavier burdens to carry when the Bible clearly teaches the contrary. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to “cast all your care upon him, for He cares for you.” (Him meaning Jesus Christ). Matthew 6:34 says, “therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”  It’s a whole different scenario, however, when you’re in the eye of the storm rather than just being a casual observer. You may think it’s impossible to not worry or stress out when situations demand it. Well, I can assure you firsthand that, through Christ Jesus, it is indeed possible to remain fearless! You don’t have to give into fear when times get rough. The word of God says that, “in the world you will have tribulation…” (John 16:33), yet what makes this scripture encouraging is that it also states that “He will never leave us nor forsake us.” (Hebrews 13:5). Therefore, no matter how difficult your situation may seem, you can find hope for tomorrow, comfort for a troubled heart, refuge in his warm embrace, peace that surpasses all understanding, love that knows no limits and a pillar of strength that is so strong, nothing can bring it down! That is the God I serve! The only One true God! The God of the Bible!

Here is a portion of a song from Crystal Lewis “Fearless” that I think all of you will enjoy:

“Fearless in the face of danger, fearless though sometimes a stranger

I’m not afraid to tell you what i found, I’m fearless all around

I am not ashamed, I am satisfied

For to me to die is gain, and to live is Christ”

God bless,
