The #BoycottIndiana movement is a remarkable study on how demagogues and groups seeking special consideration and privileges from Western civilization advance a deleterious agenda. I ask the lector to consider that Indiana’s version of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act is almost a carbon copy of the federal legislation of the same name signed into law in 1993 by then President William Jefferson Clinton and passed by a Democratic majority.
Many have been falsely accusing Governor Mike Pence, the Indiana legislature and many resident Hoosiers of “discrimination” against homosexuals and implicitly denying said group a welcoming committee to the state. I ask, where is the presence of Indiana Border Patrol actively seeking homosexuals looking to cross the state’s thresholds in order to shoot them on site?
(The discrimination charge is not only redundant, it is an egregious redefinition of the term. Discrimination means “The act of distinguishing, as in differentiating between right and wrong”, not inherently espoused hatred and classification of another person as an inferior being.)
Other cackling talking heads, knowing that many ignoramuses in the echo chambers of pop culture will repeat the false platitudes they project into sound byte land, have stated that the law will allow Christians that own businesses to refuse services to LGBTers due to religious objections thus making it more difficult for homosexuals to engage in the free market.
Free Market Economics 101: If an enterprise continually refuses services or products to a mass quantity of persons due to the personal comportment of the customer base, that business will fail. I’m more than assured that Christian bakers will not refuse to sell all of their items to all customers because it’s bad for business. Yet those that stand on principle, will not bake cakes for homosexual ceremonies because these bakers will not want to indirectly and personally sanction that union, which is an aberration according to the Scriptures (Mark 10:6 & Romans 1:26-27), by creating a product that will be employed as an accessory to recognize that act.
Important to note and respect is the right of impresarios to dispense with their labor as they see fit. This is an essential cog in the engine of liberty. If a business owner or entity refuses to engage in the exchange of goods and/or services, then is the right of the patron to move on and discover another individual or business that will willingly serve him or her. It is an act of despotism, intolerance and evil to use the blunt force instrument that is the law in order to force an owner and/or business to violate their conscience and serve those they choose not to serve, even though it is their right to negate said services.
Thus, it is logical to conclude that this mass remonstration is a temper tantrum by the homo-tyrants among us and their subjects over the fact that it immediately becomes difficult in Indiana, as well as 25 other states, to carry out government sanctioned, vindictive actions against principled Christians whom cannot countenance aberrant sexual behavior.
